PCGS 1901 Liberty nickel off-metal struck on a cent planchet. The coin has the design of a nickel but is struck on the planchet of a cent. Scarce, with about 75 off-metal Liberty nickels on cents known for the series.
This is a mid-priced example, being less than mint state coins. Overall a good value.
AU55 with pleasing medium brown surfaces. Note: the "white" areas on the obverse are on the plastic slab, not the coin.
