ANACS 1983-P Jefferson nickel struck on a 3.1 gram copper planchet. The coin is a transitional off-metal, with the planchet it is struck on having stopped being used for Lincoln cents in 1982. This is a copper cent planchet which somehow managed to be struck the following year, and also with nickel dies (instead of cent.)

A rare transitional, with only a small number known. An estimate would be that around 6-8 are known.

MS63 Brown with nice, original surfaces, and some hints of red luster glimmering through the brown toning.
