PCGS 1921-S Morgan dollar broadstruck. The coin is struck mostly out of collar (just minor reeding.) The error occurred when a planchet was not struck fully in the collar, and so expanded beyond its normal diameter and is missing almost all the reeding on the edge.
Morgan dollar broadstrikes are scarce as a rule, although 1921 is the most available year. However, they are still scarce, and this is an affordable example.
