PCGS 1943-S Lincoln wheat cent struck on a silver 10c planchet. The coin weighs 2.5 grams, and is silver. It should have been struck on a steel cent planchet (the unique metal of the year 1943), but was instead struck on a silver dime planchet intended for striking into a Mercury dime.

This is a popular major off-metal, being on the 1 year only "1943 steel cent" year. A more affordable example of this error.

AU details, with white, cleaned surfaces. The coin has fairly sharp design detail, and would probably be an AU55 or AU58 if not cleaned.
