PCGS 1954 Lincoln wheat cent struck on a silver dime planchet. The coin is struck on a silver dime planchet, and is the weight and metal of a silver 10c.

A rare date for cent on dime planchets, with an estimated 2 known for this date and mint! The other known example is a cleaned, circulated coin.

The error likely occurred when a planchet bin was used for transporting cents and also dime planchets, and a dime planchet was left behind in the bin, and then fed into a cent press and struck. Otherwise, it may have been when a press was switched from striking 10c to 1c, and a leftover 10c planchet in the press was struck with the cent dies.

XF details damaged, with a large gouge reverse.
