NGC 1966 Washington quarter struck on a clad dime planchet. The coin weighs 2.3 grams, and is the weight and metal of a dime. It is also much smaller than a normal quarter, with most of the outer lettering missing.
The error occurred when a dime planchet was fed into a press that was striking Washington quarters and was struck, resulting in an off-metal quarter on dime planchet.
