ANACS 1972-D 25c Washington quarter struck on a cent planchet. The coin is struck on a 1c planchet intended for striking into a Lincoln cent, but which was instead struck struck with quarter dies. It is the bronze alloy of a cent, and weighs the weight of a cent at around 3.1 grams.

 

The off-metal has great eye-appeal, with the copper surfaces and the smaller diameter giving the coin a dramatic appearance. A scarce off-metal type, although available with some searching.
