NGC 1976 50c Kennedy half struck on a clad quarter planchet. The coin is struck on the much smaller planchet intended for a Washington 25c, but which was struck with half dollar dies. Large portions of the outer design is missing, and the coin is much lighter than normal, weighing only 5.6 grams.

Bicentennial halves struck on quarter planchets are scarce. An estimate would be around 20 are known.
