PCGS 1987-P Jefferson nickel struck on clad quarter stock, with the coin weighing 4.23 grams. The coin is struck on clad planchet stock which was intended for use for quarters, but which was put in a nickel blanking press, creating nickel size clad, quarter thickness blanks. 

A rare error type, with an estimated 10 known for this date. AU is the grade most of these 1987 nickels on clad 25c stock come in. 

AU53 Decent luster, and just light wear. A minor, insignifcant scuff on Jefferson's lapel area.
