PCGS 2000-P Maryland state quarter struck on a nickel planchet. The coin is the weight and planchet of a nickel. Off-metal state quarters on nickel planchet are very scarce (with the exception of the Delaware on nickel, which is common), with most states having around 3 to 10 known.

The error occurred when a 5c planchet was fed into a quarter press and was struck, resulting in this off-metal.

MS66 with blazing, lustrous surfaces with a hint of golden toning. Exceptional eye-appeal.
