NGC 2021-D Morgan dollar struck thru reeding fragment reverse. The coin shows reeding in the strike thru area, which is how it can be attributed as being "reeding."
The piece of reeding that the coin was struck thru, likely came from another coin that has "finning" on its rim. When the coin was ejected from the collar die, it sheared off the finning, and it fell on top of the reverse (lower) die, and that piece was then struck into this coin's reverse.
