NGC (1839-1857) braided hair large cent struck 35% off-center at 5 o'clock. The coin shows a lot of planchet and design, and has good eye-appeal as an off-center large cent.
The error occurred when the planchet was not fed fully between the dies when it was struck, resulting in an off-center strike.
VF details with brown surfaces. Some heavy contact marks on the reverse in the center of the coin, but the obverse is problem-free. Overall decent coin.
