PCGS 1888 Morgan dollar struck thru partially retained string reverse, with a struck thru area at 1 o'clock on the coin's reverse, and with a fragment of the string still retained in the coin's surfaces. Also, there are many small "fiber" struck thrus, which are one reason it is identifiable as "string."
A very rare error type on Morgan dollars, and the coin is also a nice grade.
MS63 lustrous and flashy surfaces, and the coin looks like it was just pulled from a bag of silver dollars!
PCGS 1885-O Morgan dollar with a long 1 and 1/4 inch struck through on the coin's reverse. It is probably a strike trough from a thin sliver of metal.
