NGC 1914 Indian quarter eagle with a curved clip at 4 o'clock. The curved clip is small, as are all known gold clips on U.S. coins.
Because of the high value of the metal itself, extreme care was taken at the Mints to maintain the proper weight for gold planchets. As a result, this is a scarce and desirable clip since they are scarce this size (many are simply rim clips.)
