PCGS 1918 Lincoln wheat cent 2-coin mated pair set, with the coin a split planchet after strike. The coin was struck, then split in half due to impurities in the metal. Both halves of the coin fit together to form a single coin.
An early date split planchet mated pair set, and scarce.
PCGS with the coins grading AU55 and AU58 Brown. The coin shows some signs of having been either manually separated on the last 2% of the coin, or it may have got caught in a piece of machinery or separated in a bag of coins.
PCGS (1909-1958) Lincoln wheat cent struck on a broken planchet, which broke after strike. This is a scarce error type on wheat cents. The coin only weighs 0.5 grams!
