NGC 1925-D Indian quarter eagle struck with 40 degree counterclockwise rotated dies. The dies are conservatively estimated at the 40 degrees, and represent a large rotation for a gold U.S. coin. Great care is taken on gold coins to make them error-free, and finding rotated dies this large is difficult (or any major error.) Minor strike throughs or laminations are typically all that is routinely found on gold coins.

We can only find records of around 7 other examples of a 1925-D $2 1/2 rotated die, although most are not at large a rotation (and all are around this amount of less!), so it is a tough coin!
