PCGS 1942-S Jefferson silver war nickel struck on a dime planchet. It has the design of a Jefferson nickel, but is struck on the much smaller planchet of a 10c. A dramatic off-metal, with the coin much smaller than normal, and also the weight and metal of a dime.

Adding to the coin's apppeal, it has a full date and most of the mintmark is visible (sometimes the date or mintmark are off-the planchet, and so not visible, unlike this coin.

Rare, with very few known!

XF45 Original surfaces, with mottled silvery/brown toning.
