NGC 1961-D Franklin half struck on a quarter planchet. The Franklin half was struck on a silver quarter planchet which was fed into the press and struck, resulting in a coin with the design of a Franklin half, but struck on the planchet intended for striking into a Washington Quarter. It is the weight of a quarter as well, at 6.2 grams. Most of the lettering is missing around the coin's edge, and portions of the design.
