NGC 25c 1973-S proof Washington quarter struck on cent planchet. A dramatic and scarce proof off-metal, with the coin struck on the copper-alloy planchet used for Lincoln cents, but which was instead struck with proof quarter dies! The coin is much smaller than a normal quarter, with portions of the outer lettering missing, and with a weight of only 3.1 grams.

The obverse shows a great deal of frosting on the design, with more moderate frosting on the reverse, which contrasts with the mirrored, coppery fields! Proof quarters on cent planchets are scarce.

PF-65 Red/Brown. This is a nice example, with almost full red surfaces, and just a hint of mostly purple-toning. A small speck on the obverse, which we note for accuracy, but otherwise largely pristine surfaces.
