NGC 1980-P Jefferson nickel off-metal struck on a copper 1c blank. The blank that the coin is struck on is the copper-alloy intended for striking into a cent, but was instead struck with nickel dies. 

The coin is slightly smaller than a normal nickel, and weighs 3.1 grams (the weight of a cent.) Off-metal nickels on cents are popular and dramatic in appearance due to their different metal (copper instead of nickel.)
