PCGS 2003-P Illinois state quarter struck on a nickel planchet. The coin is the weight and planchet of a nickel. Off-metal state quarters on nickel planchet are very scarce (with the exception of the Delaware on nickel, which is common), with most states having around 3 to 10 known.

The error occurred when a 5c planchet was fed into a quarter press and was struck, resulting in this off-metal.

MS64 with pleasing, lustrous surfaces, and just a hint of gold toning, and a small area of white toning reverse.
