PCGS proof 50c Kennedy half struck on clad dime planchet. The coin is an off-metal Kennedy half struck on a clad dime planchet, and is the weight, metal, and planchet that was intended for striking into a 10c, but which was instead struck with Kennedy half dies.

Very dramatic in appearance, with the much smaller size of the coin, and so much of the design missing giving the coin great eye-appeal as an error!

A rare off-metal type, and we estimate 6 or 7 proof halves on dimes are known.

PCGS PR68 Cameo, with immaculate, white surfaces. Note: there are some scratch-like, white lines that in the photos look like they are on the coin, but they are simply reflections from the holder on the coin's mirrored fields--the coin is superb!
