PCGS 1986 gold quarter ounce American eagle with a partial collar strike. The coin was struck only partially in the collar, and when it was struck, only received reeding on about 80% of the edge. The metal flowed upwards and out, making the coin larger in diameter than normal, as well.
Partial collars are rare on gold eagles, and few are known.
