NGC 2016 American silver eagle with strong clashed dies on the obverse and revere. The coin shows the die clashes the strongest on the coin's obveres, and to a lesser degree on the reverse.

Clashed dies occur when there is no planchet between the dies while the press is in operation. The result is that the dies hit each other, causing a transfer of design from one die to the other. This is a scarce occurrence on silver eagles.
