As we enter the month of August, the things which keep collectors busy and away from their coin collections begin to wind down--school for parents with kids, vacations, and summer activities slow down, and this always results in a surge of activity in the coin market and hobby as a whole. The real jump-start to the hobby, after the summer slow-down, is usually the Summer ANA. The ANA brings thousands of numismatists and coin dealers together for one of the largest coin shows in the world, with numerous coin club functions, auctions, and hundreds of coin dealers set up to buy and sell coins. This year, the ANA is being held a bit later than normal (typically, it is in early August), and will be at the end of this month in Pittsburgh, PA. If the last few coin shows are any indication, this ANA will be a blockbuster event and we believe will likely be the best ANA in years!

We will be set up at the show, and will have hundreds of major mint errors for sale. Also, we will be buying, so bring along to the show any errors you are interested in selling and we would be happy to make an offer. If you have errors you need help with, we are always happy to give (free!) opinions on your coins. We do attribution work for grading services, and are happy to help you out if you have a few coins you're not sure about or need information on. 

The recent 2026 semiquincentennial coinage has been a welcome shot in the arm for the hobby as well. At coin shows where the Mint has set up to distribute the coins, there are always long lines of people waiting to buy the free coins (which inevitably leads to their selling out.) This is a positive for the hobby, and has put some renewed interested in our nation's coinage. Hopefully this will lead to long term collectors as well (and we think it will.)

We are always buying fresh error coins, and currently, are working hard to rebuild our inventory (which has had a lot of sales of late.) We have many sources for inventory, and are always trying to pay top dollar and sale at fair prices--a balancing act which keeps us busy! There are numerous fresh coins on the website, however, and we are typically listing fresh error coins towards the beginning of every week or so. If you are a subscriber to our email alerts, you get an email when new error coins are listed; and if you are not, we recommend you subscribe so that you can be among the first to get an alert when new coins are posted. It's a welcome advantage since many coins sell quickly when they are first listed!
