PCGS 189X liberty nickel split before strike. The coin has a rough, split side on the obverse, which is the side where the planchet split in half. The coin weighs 2.7 grams, which is almost exactly half the weight of a normal nickel.
Very scarce error type on Liberty nickels. Split after strikes are relatively common, but split before strikes are very scarce.
PCGS Jefferson nickel split die obverse and with a late-mid stage die cap strike obverse as well. Part of Monticello can be seen as well as other lettering on the obverse side. MS62
