PCGS 1973-S proof Washington quarter struck on a Lincoln cent planchet. The coin is struck on the much smaller, copper-alloy cent planchet, and weighs only about 3.1 grams! It is missing some of the outer design elements, but nicely shows the full date and mintmark.

Very eye-catching in appearance, with bright copper-red surfaces, and the smaller than normal size is visually dramatic. The brillaint proof fields and frosted devices contrast nicely, giving the coin great overall eye-appeal.

A scarce error type, with only a small number known (probably 20 or so for all dates combined.)

PR64 Red with a hint of toning a few small spots scattered near the rim mostly. Fully original surfaces (most of the "bright", spot-free examples known have been conserved, unlike this piece, which retains full originality.)
